Wayne County Emergency Management has been certified from the National Weather Service  to be a Storm Ready County.

NOAA weather radio FREQUENCY is 162.5500. Use this frequency in your scanner to get weather reports and alerts of upcoming storms 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

We would like for everyone in the county to be safe in the weather events. Being prepared is the key to be safe. Please make sure you have an emergency preparedness kit in your home and in your car.

The 2016 Hurricane season started on 1 June

Wayne County frequently gets heavy rains from these storms. Please remember to avoid roadways that have been flooded by the rain and if you see a roadway flooded: Turn Around Don’t Drown.
